  Our Journey

Built by family. Inspired by the land. Designed to last for generations.

McKnight & Sons Flagstone is a family-owned and operated business rooted in a love for craftsmanship, the outdoors, and creating places that become part of the landscape for generations to come.

Our journey began with a simple appreciation for working with our hands and working with the land. Over the years, that passion has grown into a unique approach to landscaping that brings together artisan stonework, ecological landscape design, and legacy tree planting.

We believe a landscape should be more than something that simply looks good when it is finished. It should feel like it belongs there.

Our artisan stonework is built with an appreciation for natural materials, thoughtful craftsmanship, and the character of each individual stone. From flagstone patios and pathways to natural stone features, we create work that feels timeless rather than manufactured.

Through ecological landscape design, we look beyond the immediate project and consider how plants, soil, water, wildlife, and people can work together. Our goal is to create landscapes that become healthier and more beautiful as they mature.

And through Legacy Tree Planting, we plant with the future in mind. These are trees chosen and placed not just for today's landscape, but for the shade, beauty, habitat, food, and character they can provide decades from now — often for a future generation that may enjoy them long after we are gone.

As a family business, the idea of legacy means something to us. We are not simply building landscapes for our clients; we are helping create places that families can grow with and pass down.

From the stone beneath your feet to the trees that may one day tower above you, we believe good landscapes should tell a story, improve with age, and leave something behind.

This is our journey — and we would be honoured to be part of yours.
